Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the One Constitution Avenue eviction issue and formed a high-level committee to review the matter, according to official statements.
The committee will be headed by Azam Nazeer Tarar and includes Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, along with the Cabinet Secretary and Commerce Secretary as members.
Officials said the committee has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive review and submitting its report to the prime minister within one week. Affected residents will be given an opportunity to present their concerns, with the panel expected to hear all parties impartially.
Pending a final decision by the prime minister, authorities including the Islamabad administration and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) have been directed to halt any eviction or enforcement actions.
The move comes amid growing concerns over the displacement of residents from the high-profile One Constitution Avenue project, with the government stressing that due process and justice will be ensured.
