New York, United States – Web Desk: Iran has called on several Arab countries to pay war reparations, accusing them of supporting United States and Israeli actions against Tehran, according to a letter submitted to the United Nations.
Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, made the demand in a formal communication addressed to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, Iranian media reported.
The letter was written in response to earlier correspondence from six Arab nations — Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan — regarding the situation involving Iran.
In his message, Iravani alleged that countries bordering the Persian Gulf had played a role in facilitating actions against Iran and should therefore be held accountable. He urged that these nations compensate Iran fully for damages, including losses resulting from their alleged involvement.
The development adds to rising tensions in the Middle East, as diplomatic exchanges at the United Nations continue amid ongoing geopolitical strains.
