Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: In a decisive retaliation to unprovoked attacks by the Afghan Taliban, Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, delivering heavy damage to Taliban positions along the Pak-Afghan border.
According to security sources, 133 Taliban fighters were killed and over 200 injured, as Pakistani forces targeted 27 check posts, 3 brigade headquarters, 2 corps headquarters, ammunition depots, and other military assets. Multiple checkpoints were captured and Pakistani flags hoisted at key positions, including South Waziristan and Paktia regions.
The Pakistan Air Force conducted precision airstrikes on Taliban bases in Kandahar, Nangarhar, and Paktia, destroying ammunition depots, logistic bases, and armored units. Security sources confirmed that 50+ tanks, artillery guns, and APCs were destroyed, significantly weakening Taliban capabilities.
In response to Pakistan’s decisive operations, Taliban forces reportedly raised white flags at multiple positions. Anti-drone systems successfully intercepted small UAV attacks launched by Taliban-affiliated groups in Abbottabad, Swabi, and Nowshera.
Government officials, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar, praised the military for its professional and swift response. Provincial leaders, including Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Murad Ali Shah, and Governors Kamran Khan Tesori, condemned Taliban cross-border attacks and applauded the armed forces’ operations.
The Ministry of Information emphasized that Pakistani forces remain fully prepared to protect national sovereignty and respond effectively to any future aggression along the border.
