Khan Younis, Gaza – Web Desk: Israel has released 60 Palestinian prisoners, who were transferred via the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to Khan Younis in southern Gaza on Monday. Families gathered at Nasser Hospital to welcome the released detainees.
The ICRC said it has facilitated the transfer of more than 2,500 released Palestinians since 2023. However, the organization reiterated that it has not been granted access to Palestinians held in Israeli custody since October 2023, nor has it received information on their whereabouts or conditions.
According to Palestinian prisoner advocacy groups, over 9,600 Palestinians remain in Israeli prisons—up from approximately 5,250 before Israel’s military campaign began.
