Tel Aviv, Israel – Web Desk: Israel’s Defense Minister has outlined plans to establish a security zone inside Lebanese territory, according to media reports, signaling a potential expansion of military operations along the northern border.
Speaking on the proposed strategy, the minister said Israeli forces would move into parts of southern Lebanon to secure the area following military operations. The plan includes taking defensive positions inside Lebanese territory and maintaining control over areas up to the Litani River.
The proposed security zone is aimed at strengthening Israel’s border security and preventing cross-border threats, officials indicated. However, analysts warn that such a move could escalate tensions in the region and raise concerns over sovereignty and regional stability.
There has been no immediate response from Lebanese authorities regarding the reported plans. The situation remains fluid amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
