Beirut, Lebanon – Web Desk: Israeli airstrikes have destroyed a key strategic bridge in southern Lebanon, cutting off the region’s last direct land connection with the rest of the country, according to Lebanon’s state news agency.
The report said Israeli aircraft carried out two consecutive strikes on the Qasmiya Bridge, a vital crossing linking southern Lebanon to other parts of the country.
A Lebanese security official told international media that the attack effectively severed ground access between the south and the rest of Lebanon, adding that the bridge was completely destroyed and beyond repair.
The official further stated that Israeli forces had previously targeted and destroyed several other bridges in the area, further disrupting transportation and movement in southern Lebanon amid ongoing cross-border tensions.
