Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States of undermining diplomatic efforts through military action, saying that whenever negotiations move forward, Washington launches new military operations that derail progress.
In a post on social media platform X, Araghchi said recent developments suggest an increase in tensions rather than de-escalation in the Strait of Hormuz region, where US and Iranian forces have reportedly been involved in confrontations.
His remarks came as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington expects Iran’s response to a recent proposal on ending hostilities, adding that any serious plan could lead to renewed diplomatic engagement.
Araghchi described US actions as a “misguided strategy” and questioned whether third-party actors were influencing US decision-making in a way that could drag Washington into a deeper regional conflict.
He reiterated Iran’s position that it will not bow to external pressure, claiming that the country’s missile capabilities are stronger than previously reported Western assessments. He also rejected recent intelligence claims about Iran’s military capacity.
The comments follow reports of renewed US strikes on Iranian-linked military sites and ongoing maritime tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy shipping route.
The situation remains highly volatile as both sides continue to exchange accusations while indirect diplomatic channels remain active.
