Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The government of Pakistan has announced an increase in petroleum product prices, raising the cost of both petrol and high-speed diesel for the next week.
According to the Petroleum Division, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs15 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs414.58 per litre.
Petrol prices were also raised by Rs14.92 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs414.78 per litre.
Officials said the revised fuel prices came into effect from midnight and will remain applicable for one week.
Sources within the Petroleum Division also confirmed a significant increase in the petroleum levy on both products. The levy on petrol was raised from Rs103.50 to Rs117.41 per litre, while the levy on diesel increased from Rs28.69 to Rs42.60 per litre.
The latest fuel price hike is expected to add pressure on inflation, transportation costs, and consumer goods prices across Pakistan, as global oil market volatility and fiscal adjustments continue to impact the country’s economy.
