Police have registered a theft case after air conditioners, doors, windows and other household items were reported missing from former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf’s residence in Rawalpindi.
WEB DESK: RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a theft case after household items worth an estimated Rs270,000 were reported missing from the residence of former prime minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in Rawalpindi.
The residence is located in Dhoke Amb, in the Jatli area of Rawalpindi. The complaint was filed at Jatli Police Station by Tayyab Fazal, Ashraf’s personal secretary, according to the first information report (FIR) cited in media reports.
What items were reported missing?
According to the FIR details reported by Geo News, the missing property included three air conditioners, two doors and two windows. Carpets, crockery, decorative items and a grass-cutting machine were also reportedly taken from the residence.
Police sources estimated the value of the missing items at approximately Rs270,000. The complainant also reported finding broken locks at different locations inside the property.
Domestic employee reportedly absent
The complaint also raised concerns about a domestic employee assigned to the residence who was reportedly absent.
According to the FIR, police personnel deployed at the property said the employee had not been present since the previous night. The employee’s mobile phone was reportedly switched off.
However, the circumstances surrounding the employee’s absence and any possible connection to the theft have not been independently established in the available reporting. No conclusion about responsibility should be drawn before the investigation is completed.
Police investigation underway
The complainant has asked authorities to investigate the incident, recover the missing property and take legal action against those found responsible.
The registration of a case marks the beginning of the legal investigation; it does not establish who committed the alleged theft. Further details about suspects, recoveries or arrests require confirmation from police or other reliable official sources.
The case remains a developing crime story, and the reported value of the missing property may be subject to verification as the investigation progresses.
