Washington, United States – Web Desk: Former US Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, General Mark Kimmitt, has said that Pakistan has the full capability to play an important diplomatic role in regional affairs.
Speaking in a statement, Kimmitt noted that Pakistan enjoys the confidence of US President Donald Trump and is well-positioned to act as an effective mediator in regional conflicts.
He said Pakistan has previously played a successful role in facilitating dialogue and could once again contribute meaningfully to easing tensions, particularly in the context of disputes involving the United States and Iran.
The retired general also highlighted what he described as a strong level of coordination and trust between Trump and Pakistan’s military leadership, including Field Marshal Asim Munir, prior to the current phase of regional tensions.
According to Kimmitt, this relationship has helped strengthen bilateral understanding and could prove beneficial for both Pakistan and the United States in managing complex diplomatic challenges.
