Iran Open to Talks in Pakistan If US Agrees: Report

Date:

Washington / Tehran – Web Desk: Iran has reportedly shown flexibility in its demands and is prepared to hold talks in Pakistan next week if the United States agrees to its proposal, according to American media reports.

US media claims that Tehran has conveyed a new ceasefire proposal to Washington, outlining key discussions on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and limiting Iran’s nuclear program. Analysts say the move signals that diplomatic engagement between the two sides may continue.

Sources familiar with the matter said Iran’s revised proposal includes discussions on conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, alongside demands for guarantees from the United States to halt strikes on Iran and lift blockades on Iranian ports.

Previously, Iran had insisted that the US first lift its blockade before any negotiations, along with agreement on post-war conditions and the future of its nuclear program. However, reports suggest Tehran has now softened its stance.

According to US media, the latest proposal links potential relief from US sanctions and naval restrictions with Iran’s willingness to discuss its nuclear program and reopening of the strategic waterway.

Officials familiar with the discussions say Iran has signaled through intermediaries that it is ready for talks in Pakistan as early as next week if Washington accepts the new proposal framework.
