United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East during separate meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Fletcher thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for receiving him and appreciated the longstanding partnership and close cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said Fletcher commended Pakistan’s leadership for its efforts to promote regional peace and stability, emphasizing that sustainable peace is essential to addressing the humanitarian and economic consequences of ongoing conflicts.
Separately, the Foreign Office said Fletcher also met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, where he acknowledged Pakistan’s continued diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering regional stability. He further appreciated Pakistan’s longstanding and valuable contributions to the United Nations and its humanitarian efforts.
The meetings highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to diplomacy, humanitarian cooperation, and international engagement amid evolving regional challenges.
