Iran has ruled out any immediate plans for negotiations with the United States, saying its priority remains defending the country amid heightened regional tensions.
Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Speaking to reporters, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei said Tehran currently has no plans to engage in talks with Washington. He added that Iran would honor its international commitments only if the United States fully complied with its own obligations.
“Our commitments remain in effect only as long as the other side fulfills its pledges,” Baqaei said, adding that Iran halted implementation of its obligations under the memorandum of understanding after accusing the US of failing to uphold its commitments.
He further stated that once the other party violated the agreement, Iran also suspended implementation of the provisions that required its compliance. The remarks come as diplomatic relations between Tehran and Washington remain strained over regional security and broader geopolitical disputes.
