Iran Says Use of UK Military Bases in Strikes Violates International Law

Date:

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has accused the United Kingdom of violating international law by allowing its military bases to be used in attacks against Iran, warning that countries assisting such operations could face consequences.

Tehran – Web Desk: Iran has accused the United Kingdom of violating international law by allowing its military bases to be used in attacks against Iranian territory, according to a statement issued by the country’s Foreign Ministry.

The ministry said Britain’s decision amounted to a breach of the United Nations Charter, alleging that London had chosen to support the countries carrying out military operations instead of condemning what Tehran described as acts of aggression.

In its statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry argued that providing assistance for the attacks could be interpreted as participation in aggression and war crimes. It said any form of logistical or operational support for military action against Iran could carry legal and political consequences under international law.

Iran also warned that countries facilitating attacks against its territory could be considered participants in the aggression. The ministry reiterated that Tehran reserves the right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity in accordance with international law.

The latest remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following recent military developments involving Iran and its regional rivals. Tehran has repeatedly maintained that any country assisting military operations against it will bear responsibility for the consequences.

Regional observers say the exchange of accusations highlights growing diplomatic strains and raises concerns over the risk of further escalation. International attention remains focused on efforts to prevent a wider regional conflict while encouraging all parties to exercise restraint.
