Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone Receive Security Threats in Mumbai

Date:

Mumbai, India – Web Desk: Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have received heightened security at their Mumbai residence following threatening WhatsApp voice messages demanding ransom, police confirmed on Tuesday.

According to Indian media reports, the security measures were intensified after the couple alerted authorities regarding the threatening messages. The warnings came shortly after Singh’s blockbuster film “Dharandhar” achieved major commercial success, reportedly placing the actor in the spotlight for unknown assailants.

Mumbai police have initiated an investigation to identify the sender of the messages. Authorities said the voice notes included threats and a demand for a significant sum of money, prompting immediate action. Armed security personnel have been deployed outside the couple’s residence, including six officers positioned without prior approval from the housing society committee, alongside a uniformed police officer coordinating with a private security team.

The Mumbai Police Department issued a statement confirming the investigation, noting that the threat referenced the actor’s residence in the Prabhadevi area, specifically the Beau Monde building. The police have emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing, with efforts focused on identifying and apprehending the suspect.

Ranveer Singh’s recent film “Dharandhar” was among the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2025, cementing his popularity and leading to the development of “Dharandhar 2.” Deepika Padukone, after a brief hiatus following the birth of her daughter in 2024, recently appeared in “Singham Again” and is slated to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the upcoming film “King.”

Industry experts highlight that high-profile Bollywood actors often face security challenges after commercial success, and authorities continue to take proactive measures to ensure their safety. The incident has drawn widespread media attention, further underscoring the need for vigilance around prominent entertainment figures in India.
