Trump Orders Action on Hormuz Mines, Signals Iran Divisions

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has ordered the destruction of any vessel laying sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, while reaffirming that the naval blockade will remain in place until Iran agrees to a deal.

In a statement posted on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said US naval forces have been instructed to target all boats—large or small—suspected of deploying mines in the strategic waterway.

He added that US minesweepers are actively working to clear the Strait of Hormuz and that operations in the region have been intensified significantly. Trump also claimed that multiple hostile vessels had already been neutralized during ongoing operations.

In a separate statement, Trump asserted that internal divisions are growing within Iran’s leadership, describing tensions between hardline factions and so-called moderates. He said these divisions were affecting decision-making amid the ongoing conflict.

The US president further stated that the United States maintains full control over the Strait of Hormuz, adding that no vessel can enter or exit without approval from the US Navy. He reiterated that the blockade would remain in force until Iran reaches an agreement.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical global energy corridor, and continued military activity in the area has heightened concerns over international shipping, oil supply routes, and regional stability.
