Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The United States has decided to send a high-level delegation to Pakistan for talks with Iran, according to media reports, as diplomatic efforts intensify amid rising regional tensions.
US President Donald Trump has approved the move, with reports suggesting that senior figures including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will be part of the negotiating team. Two officials have confirmed the decision to dispatch the delegation.
The development comes shortly after Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced his regional tour, including visits to Islamabad, Muscat, and Moscow, aimed at strengthening coordination with partners and discussing regional developments.
Sources indicate that an Iranian delegation led by Araghchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad, where meetings with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and senior military leadership are likely.
Security in Islamabad has been heightened ahead of the expected arrivals, with measures underway to expand restrictions in the Red Zone. US logistical and security teams are reportedly already present in the capital to support the diplomatic process.
The talks are seen as part of broader international efforts to address tensions involving Iran, the United States, and regional stakeholders.
