US Justice Department Releases Missing Epstein Interview Records

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: The United States Department of Justice has released previously undisclosed records from the Federal Bureau of Investigation summarizing interviews with an unidentified woman who made allegations against Donald Trump involving an alleged sexual encounter. The documents are connected to the FBI’s broader investigation into accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

FBI agents interviewed the woman four times in 2019 as part of inquiries into Epstein’s activities. While the Justice Department previously released a log confirming the interviews occurred, summaries of only one session had been made public. The newly disclosed records outline additional allegations, including claims that Trump attempted to coerce the woman into sexual acts after being introduced to him in the 1980s when she was a minor.

The Justice Department cautioned that portions of the documents contain unverified and sensational claims. Officials emphasized that the records reflect statements made during investigative interviews and do not constitute legal determinations of fact. The FBI ceased contact with the woman in 2019, and authorities have stated they could not independently substantiate her allegations.

The disclosure arrives amid heightened political scrutiny of the government’s handling of Epstein-related records. Members of the United States House of Representatives have questioned delays in document releases and sought greater transparency. Lawmakers have also requested testimony from Pam Bondi regarding procedures for managing investigative materials.

The White House responded to the allegations by describing them as baseless and unsupported by credible evidence. Trump has long denied knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities and stated that his association with the financier ended years before Epstein faced charges. Previous records indicate Trump traveled on Epstein’s aircraft in the 1990s, claims he disputes.

Justice Department officials acknowledged that 15 documents were mistakenly categorized as duplicates and not initially released, prompting their subsequent publication. The agency stated that internal reviews are underway to address administrative errors and ensure compliance with transparency obligations.

Legal analysts note that the interview summaries provide insight into the scope of the FBI’s investigation but do not establish culpability or verify the allegations contained within them. The broader Epstein case continues to generate political and legal debate as public interest in historical investigative records remains high.
