Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Israel carried out extensive airstrikes on infrastructure in Tehran and southern suburbs of Beirut, targeting sites linked to the Iran-backed Hezbollah. Israeli military officials described the operation as a broad-scale campaign involving multiple waves of strikes against command centers and weapons facilities.
Explosions and flashes illuminated the night sky over Beirut’s southern districts, according to footage from Reuters. The Israeli Defense Forces reported 26 waves of overnight strikes, stating that targets included militia infrastructure and storage sites used by Hezbollah.
In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it launched missiles toward Tel Aviv as part of its “Operation True Promise 4.” The IRGC claimed the attack targeted strategic sites in the heart of Tel Aviv and confirmed the use of Kheibar missiles.
Iran also reported drone strikes on the U.S.-operated Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest American facility in the Middle East. Qatari authorities stated no casualties were reported. The IRGC further claimed operations against the Ramat David Air Base and a radar installation in Israel, along with attacks on facilities hosting U.S. forces in Kuwait and Erbil, Iraq.
A spokesperson for the Revolutionary Guards stated that new military initiatives and advanced weaponry would soon be deployed in response to ongoing hostilities, though details were not disclosed.
The seven-day conflict has expanded across the region, with reported incidents in Cyprus, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, as well as maritime operations in the Indian Ocean. Authorities in Azerbaijan reported drone incursions near the Nakhchivan exclave that injured civilians, though Iran denied involvement.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh characterized the conflict as an existential struggle, stating that Tehran would respond to attacks originating from U.S. and Israeli forces. He made the remarks during a conference in New Delhi, India.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah issued warnings to Israeli residents within five kilometers of the Lebanese border, urging evacuation and vowing retaliation for strikes on Lebanese territory. The militia accused Israel of targeting civilian infrastructure and escalating regional tensions.
Casualty figures remain significant. Iranian authorities reported at least 1,230 deaths since the start of hostilities, while Lebanon’s health ministry confirmed 123 fatalities and hundreds of injuries linked to Israeli strikes. No deaths have been reported in Israel from Hezbollah rocket fire.
The escalating exchanges underscore growing regional instability as diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the conflict remain limited.
