Islamabad – Web Desk: Pakistan has informed Iran and the United States that the final date for the second round of mediation talks will be announced after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif returns from his ongoing foreign visits, according to official sources.
Sources said both sides have conveyed to Pakistan that the same negotiating teams that participated in the first round of talks held in Islamabad will also take part in the upcoming phase of discussions.
The second round of US-Iran talks is expected to begin in Islamabad next week, pending final confirmation of dates after the prime minister’s return.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently on a high-level diplomatic tour, which includes visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Türkiye. His engagements in the region are focused on strengthening bilateral ties and discussing regional peace and security, including ongoing diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran.
Pakistan is playing a facilitating role in supporting communication channels between Iran and the United States amid broader regional tensions, as diplomatic efforts continue to evolve.
