Washington, USA – Web Desk: The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, has expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s ongoing economic reform program, praising the country’s recent macroeconomic progress and policy direction.
The remarks came after a meeting between Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and the IMF chief, where both sides reviewed the implementation of Pakistan’s reform agenda.
According to an official statement shared on social media, Georgieva commended Pakistan’s economic progress, noting that the reform program has been effectively implemented, contributing to improved macroeconomic stability.
She highlighted that investor confidence in Pakistan has strengthened as a result of consistent and disciplined economic policies. The IMF chief further stressed that maintaining policy continuity is essential for sustaining growth and stability.
Georgieva also underscored the importance of continuing structural reforms, stating that long-term economic development depends on sustained efforts in fiscal discipline, governance improvements, and institutional strengthening.
