Paris, France – Web Desk: Reports suggest that US President Donald Trump’s expected visit to Pakistan may include discussions on the Kashmir issue, reviving attention on one of South Asia’s most sensitive disputes.
According to details, Trump had previously offered mediation on Kashmir in 2019, claiming that then-Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had requested his assistance in the matter.
Pakistan had welcomed the offer, while India immediately rejected it, maintaining that Kashmir is a bilateral issue and does not allow third-party mediation. New Delhi had described Trump’s remarks as a political statement, stressing that mediation is only possible if both countries agree.
Trump has repeatedly stated that the United States could assist if both India and Pakistan request it, but would not intervene unilaterally.
Reports now suggest that if the visit takes place, the Kashmir issue is likely to be part of broader discussions, along with reference to past India-Pakistan tensions, including the May 2025 conflict.
