Tel Aviv, Israel – Web Desk: Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad has reportedly dismissed its deputy director following the alleged failure of a covert operation aimed at destabilizing the Iranian government, according to media reports.
Reports suggest that newly appointed Mossad chief Roman Gofman, who assumed leadership of the agency this week, ordered the dismissal of his deputy shortly after taking office. The move comes amid broader leadership changes within the organization, with reports indicating that other senior officials could also face departures.
According to reports cited by international media, the deputy director had overseen a large-scale intelligence operation involving hundreds of agents and a significant budget. The operation reportedly failed to achieve its objectives in Iran, leading to internal criticism and accountability measures.
Despite the reported dismissal, Gofman publicly praised the deputy’s 22 years of service in an official statement. The identity of the dismissed official was not disclosed, with reports referring to him only as “A.”
The developments come as regional tensions remain high and intelligence activities across the Middle East continue to draw international attention.
