Trump Vows to Address Pakistan-Afghanistan Conflict During Middle East Peace Tour

Date:

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he intends to intervene in the ongoing conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, pledging to explore diplomatic solutions upon his return from a high-profile Middle East tour.

Speaking to reporters ahead of his departure for Egypt, where he will attend the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, President Trump acknowledged the tensions between the two South Asian neighbors. “I’m aware of the war going on between Pakistan and Afghanistan,” he said. “I’ll look into it once I return. I’ll make another attempt because I’m an expert at resolving wars.”

Trump also claimed credit for previously defusing hostilities between Pakistan and India, stating that his administration used trade tariffs as a strategic tool to prevent escalation.

Turning to the Middle East, the President declared that the war in Gaza has ended and announced plans to establish a “Board of Peace” to oversee the ceasefire. “The ceasefire will hold, and the release of hostages may happen sooner than expected,” he said, while praising Qatar’s role in facilitating peace efforts in the region.

On the war in Ukraine, Trump issued a stark warning, suggesting that if the conflict persists, he may consider sending Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv.

During his tour, President Trump will first visit Israel, where he is scheduled to meet with recently released hostages and their families. He will also address the Knesset and hold meetings with senior Israeli military and political leaders.

The Gaza Peace Summit in Egypt is expected to bring together leaders from more than 20 countries to finalize a permanent ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel. Discussions will also include a proposed regional security pact between Arab nations and Israel.

Trump’s remarks signal a renewed U.S. diplomatic push across multiple global flashpoints, with the President positioning himself as a central figure in efforts to restore peace and stability.
