WASHINGTON, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump announced that the ongoing ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has been extended by an additional three weeks.
Speaking in the Oval Office, Trump said he is looking forward to hosting Israeli Prime Minister and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun for future talks.
The US president said his recent meetings with Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors at the White House were “positive and constructive.”
Trump added that the United States is prepared to work closely with Lebanon to help protect itself from Hezbollah.
He also pledged continued diplomatic efforts to maintain regional peace and stability.
The announcement comes amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, where international powers are pushing for broader de-escalation efforts.
