Ground Troop Options Under Review
According to the report, high-level briefings over the past several days have presented President Trump with various military options alongside diplomatic efforts. A Situation Room meeting chaired by Trump reviewed multiple proposals to increase military pressure on Iran .
The options reportedly under consideration include intensified airstrikes, bombing of fortified nuclear facilities, seizure operations on Kharg Island and other strategic locations, and targeting of tunnel complexes linked to Iran’s nuclear program . Expanding the scope of attacks on Iranian energy centers is also being discussed .
US Central Command Claims Tanker Neutralized
Separately, US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed that US forces disabled a tanker heading toward Iran. According to CENTCOM, the commercial vessel ignored multiple warnings and attempted to violate the US blockade . A US aircraft struck the ship’s smoke stack with a missile, rendering it unable to continue its advance toward Iran, the military said .
