Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Punjab Home Department has announced strict restrictions for the Basant festival to prevent unrest and maintain religious harmony and public safety.

A recent notification prohibits attaching religious texts, sacred sites, personalities, or political symbols to kites. Preparation, sale, and use of kites with religious or political images are also banned. However, plain single-colored or multicolored kites and Gudda are allowed.

The use of metal wires and nylon strings is completely banned. Motorcyclists must use safety rods, while firing in the air and display of weapons is strictly prohibited during Basant.
