Colombo, Sri Lanka — Web Desk: Sri Lanka Cricket hosted a special ceremony in Colombo to honor Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for his contributions to the promotion of cricket and bilateral sporting ties.
Naqvi met Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva and senior officials, who paid tribute to his role in strengthening cricket development and international cooperation. Sri Lanka’s Minister of Sports Sunil Senaviratne, Defence Secretary Sampath Thuyacontha, Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley de Silva, and other senior officials attended the event.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain, PCB Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, and Pakistan Super League (PSL) CEO Salman Naseer were also present at the meeting.
Both cricket boards reaffirmed their commitment to expanding collaboration, including administrative cooperation and cricket development initiatives. Sri Lanka Cricket thanked Naqvi for visiting Colombo and highlighted the importance of Pakistan–Sri Lanka cricket relations.
Naqvi expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality and said cricket serves as a bridge between nations, fostering friendship and mutual respect. He added that he was pleased to be in Colombo and valued Sri Lanka Cricket’s efforts to strengthen ties between the two boards.
