Chennai, India | Web Desk — The United States defeated Namibia by 31 runs in the 26th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, delivering a strong all-round performance in Chennai.
Chasing a target of 200, Namibia scored 168 for six in their 20 overs, falling short despite a fighting half-century from Lorien Steenkamp, who top-scored with 58 runs.
Earlier, the USA opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted a competitive total of 199 for four. Sanjay Krishnamurthi starred with an unbeaten 68, while Monak Patel contributed 52. Shayan Jahangir added 22, Sai Teja Mukkamalla made 17, and Milind Kumar scored 28, with Shubham Ranjane remaining unbeaten on five.
For Namibia, Willem Myburgh and Gerhard Erasmus picked up two wickets each. The result strengthens the USA’s position in the tournament standings and highlights their growing presence in international cricket.
