CM Murad Ali Shah vows strict action after Jamaat-e-Islami protest disrupts traffic

Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah responded firmly to the recent Jamaat-e-Islami protest in Karachi, stating that public roads will no longer be blocked. Speaking to the media, he criticized the political exploitation of the Gul Plaza tragedy, emphasizing the government’s support for affected families and announcing a relief of PKR 1 crore per family.

Shah highlighted that the public elected the PPP, and opposition leaders like Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman must either work responsibly within the assembly or vacate their seats. He condemned the blockade of Shahrah-e-Faisal for several hours, noting it caused undue hardship to citizens. The provincial government plans stricter enforcement against dharnas and protests on major roads to ensure public convenience and safety.
