Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Security has been significantly tightened in Islamabad ahead of the expected arrival of delegations from Iran and the United States for potential negotiations, according to police sources.
Authorities have placed key locations, including Nur Khan Airbase and Islamabad International Airport, on high alert, with surrounding areas partially sealed to ensure security for visiting dignitaries.
Police said extraordinary measures have been introduced, including rooftop deployments of security personnel, strict surveillance, and restricted movement in sensitive zones. Special security protocols have been enforced in Rawalpindi areas such as New Town, Sadiqabad, and Chaklala.
As part of heightened precautions, authorities have ordered the temporary closure of restaurants, parks, markets, gyms, snooker clubs, barber shops, and other public spaces in designated zones until further notice. Drone flying, aerial firing, and pigeon flying have also been banned.
Hotel and guesthouse operators have been instructed to maintain complete records of guests and submit daily reports to local police stations. Movement on rooftops, balconies, and near designated routes has been restricted, with strict penalties for violations.
More than 10,000 police personnel have been deployed across Rawalpindi, supported by elite commandos, snipers, and rapid response units. Authorities are conducting search, sweep, and intelligence-based operations, along with 24/7 monitoring through CCTV and Safe City systems.
Officials said these measures aim to ensure foolproof security for foreign delegations and maintain public safety amid heightened regional tensions.
