Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad has approved pre-arrest bail for PTI founder and Bushra Bibi in seven separate cases, including allegations of fake Toshakhana receipts.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Afzal Majoka heard six pre-arrest bail applications for the PTI founder and one for Bushra Bibi. Bail was granted against PKR 50,000 surety each.
The PTI founder faces multiple cases related to the May 9 incidents, including the Azadi March, attempted murder, vandalism, arson, and falsified Toshakhana receipts. Bushra Bibi is also facing a case concerning Toshakhana receipts registered at Kohsar Police Station.
Prosecution representatives Raja Naveed Hussain Kayani, Mazhar Bashir, and Tahir Kazim urged the court to reject the bail requests, citing solid evidence against the accused.
The PTI founder’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, argued that delays and procedural lapses had occurred in presenting the accused to court and that the bail requests were based on merit rather than medical grounds. He emphasized that pre-arrest bail for these cases had rarely been rejected except for May 9-related incidents.
After hearing arguments, the court granted interim bail to both the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.
