(Web Desk): Police in Islamabad on Thursday barred the sisters of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, who wanted to deliver the letter written by their brother to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Yahya Afridi, from walking up to his chamber.
Police officials said they would not allow anybody to go to the CJP’s chamber unless they received permission from the representatives of the Registrar’s Office.
Latif Khosa, counsel for Imran’s sister Aleema Khan, said that his client wanted to deliver her brother’s letter to the chief justice, and, therefore, could not be stopped by the police.

In his letter, Imran said that he had been incarcerated in the Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi for the last 772 days in connection with over 300 bogus cases. “Not only I, but my wife, Bushra Bibi, who is also innocent, and whose condition is deteriorating by the day, is also imprisoned,” he said, and added that he and his wife were not allowed to meet their family members as well as lawyers.
The registration of over 300 cases against a political leader, he further said, was unprecedented.
The former prime minister, in the letter, said that the Supreme Court (SC) was the guarantor of fundamental human rights and appealed to the CJP to order the provision of medical treatment to Bushra immediately. “Besides that, I should also be allowed to talk to my sons on the telephone.”
