Pakistan Repays UAE All Financial Deposits: SBP Confirms

Date:

KARACHI, Pakistan – Web Desk: The State Bank of Pakistan has confirmed that Pakistan has fully repaid all financial deposits provided by the United Arab Emirates.

According to the central bank, the final tranche of $1 billion was transferred on Thursday, completing the settlement of all outstanding obligations.

Officials said the repayment was carried out in accordance with agreed financial procedures and arrangements between the two countries.

The State Bank noted that Pakistan had already repaid $2.45 billion in earlier installments over the past week, bringing the total repayment to $3.45 billion.

With this final payment, all UAE-linked financial deposits have now been fully cleared, the central bank said.

In a related development, Pakistan continues to receive financial support from other regional partners. Earlier, Saudi Arabia provided $3 billion in financial assistance, which is being seen as an important factor in supporting Pakistan’s external account stability.

Economists say such inflows and repayments reflect ongoing adjustments in Pakistan’s external financing strategy amid broader economic reforms.
