Beijing, China – Web Desk: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, where both sides called for an immediate ceasefire and de-escalation of tensions in the Gulf and wider Middle East.
Following the high-level talks, Pakistan and China issued a joint five-point statement emphasizing the urgent need to end hostilities and restore regional stability. The statement called for the immediate launch of diplomatic negotiations and unhindered humanitarian access to conflict-affected areas.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, both countries stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran and Gulf states. All parties were urged to refrain from the use of force or threats and to ensure the protection of civilians and non-military infrastructure.
The joint statement also called for an end to attacks on energy facilities and peaceful nuclear installations, warning that such actions could further destabilize the region. It highlighted the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz as a vital global route for energy supplies and trade.
Both countries urged the protection of vessels and crews stranded in the Strait and emphasized the need to restore safe and uninterrupted maritime navigation for commercial shipping.
Pakistan and China also reaffirmed their support for strengthening the role of the United Nations, stressing adherence to international law and the UN Charter to maintain global peace and security. Analysts say the joint stance reflects growing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation in an already volatile region.
