Sydney, Australia – Web Desk: Pakistan secured a memorable ODI series victory over Australia after defeating the hosts by four wickets in the third and final One-Day International, sealing the three-match series 2-1.
Chasing a modest target of 158, Pakistan reached the total in the 42nd over despite facing a few challenges during the run chase. The victory capped off an impressive performance by Pakistan’s bowlers, who earlier dismissed Australia for just 157 runs.
Australian captain Josh Inglis top-scored with 65 runs, while Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey contributed 19 runs each. Adam Zampa added 10 runs before being dismissed.
Pakistan’s bowling attack was led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who claimed three wickets. Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan picked up two wickets each, while Haris Rauf chipped in with one scalp.
In reply, Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled at times, with Babar Azam scoring a composed 40 runs and Muaz Sadaqat adding 27. The match was ultimately sealed by Abdul Samad and Shadab Khan, whose unbeaten 49-run partnership for the seventh wicket guided Pakistan to victory.
Pakistan had won the opening ODI by five wickets before Australia leveled the series with a 42-run victory in the second match. The visitors bounced back in the decider to claim the series 2-1.
