Melbourne, Australia | Web Desk — Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic created history at the Australian Open by reaching the Round of 16, becoming the first player in tennis history to win 400 Grand Slam matches.
The 38-year-old achieved the milestone by defeating Dutch player Botic van de Zandschulp 3-6, 4-6, 6-7. Djokovic now surpasses Roger Federer, who has 369 Grand Slam victories, while Serena Williams holds third place with 365 wins.
This victory marked Djokovic’s 102nd win at Melbourne Park, where he has claimed 10 Australian Open titles, tying him with Federer for the most match wins in Australian Open singles history.
In the fourth round, Djokovic will face either Czech player Jakub Mensik or American Ethan Quinn, whose match was delayed due to extreme heat conditions.
