Lt Col Among 11 Martyred, 19 Terrorists Killed in Orakzai Operation

ORAKZAI – October 8, 2025:
In a major intelligence-based operation conducted by Pakistan’s security forces in the Orakzai district on the night of October 7–8, 2025, 19 Indian-sponsored terrorists affiliated with the group Fitna al Khwarij were eliminated, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the intense exchange of fire, eleven brave personnel of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom, including Lieutenant Colonel Junaid Arif (39) and Major Tayyab Rahat (33), both residents of Rawalpindi. The officers led their troops from the front, demonstrating exceptional courage and leadership.

The other martyrs include:

  • Naib Subedar Azam Gul (38, Khyber)
  • Naik Adil Hussain (35, Kurram)
  • Naik Gul Ameer (34, Tank)
  • Lance Naik Sher Khan (31, Mardan)
  • Lance Naik Talish Faraz (32, Mansehra)
  • Lance Naik Irshad Hussain (32, Kurram)
  • Sepoy Tufail Khan (28, Malakand)
  • Sepoy Aqib Ali (23, Swabi)
  • Sepoy Muhammad Zahid (24, Tank)

Following the operation, a sanitization campaign has been launched to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.

The ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating that the supreme sacrifices of these heroes will further strengthen the nation’s resolve to achieve lasting peace and stability.

National Leadership Pays Tribute

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and paid tribute to the fallen soldiers. He emphasized that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s fearless sons would never be forgotten and vowed to crush the evil designs of Indian-backed terrorists. “Elements threatening Pakistan’s sovereignty will never succeed,” he affirmed.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also lauded the security forces for their successful operation and honored the martyrs, including Lt Col Junaid and Major Tayyab. He extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of two injured soldiers. “Every drop of their blood reflects our unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism,” Naqvi stated.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed heartfelt condolences and praised the bravery of the security forces. “We salute the martyrs and their families who laid down their lives for the nation. Their sacrifices have written a glorious chapter in Pakistan’s history,” he said, reaffirming the province’s solidarity with the armed forces.

The nation mourns the loss of its heroes and stands united in its determination to defeat terrorism and honor the legacy of those who gave their lives for peace.
