Kuwait Orders Iranian Diplomats to Leave Within 24 Hours After Deadly Attacks

Date:

Kuwait City, Kuwait – Web Desk: Kuwait has ordered two members of Iran’s diplomatic mission to leave the country within 24 hours following deadly missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran, according to official statements.

The move comes after at least one person was killed and 63 others injured in the attacks, which also caused significant damage to Kuwait International Airport and other civilian and strategic facilities.

According to Arab media reports, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Iran’s chargé d’affaires and lodged a formal protest, describing the attacks as a serious violation of sovereignty and international law.

The ministry said Iranian strikes constituted “continuous and aggressive actions,” warning that such incidents threaten not only Kuwait’s national security but also regional stability.

Authorities confirmed that diplomatic mission buildings were also damaged during the strikes, prompting Kuwait to declare two Iranian diplomats persona non grata and order their expulsion within 24 hours.

The Ministry of Defense said multiple drones targeted the airport, damaging passenger terminals and forcing a temporary suspension of air operations. Some flights were later resumed after security assessments, though the country remains on high alert.

Several Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, condemned the attacks and expressed solidarity with Kuwait, calling for respect for sovereignty and regional peace.
