Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: In a relief initiative following the Gul Plaza tragedy, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has arranged 300 temporary shops for affected traders at Polo Ground. These stalls, constructed under tents, will provide electricity, water, and sanitation facilities for both shopkeepers and customers.
Officials have confirmed that 50 city wardens will be deployed to maintain market security. Sindh’s Minister for Local Government, Nasir Shah, and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab inspected the temporary stalls and praised the arrangements, emphasizing the government’s commitment to helping traders resume their businesses swiftly.
The stalls are intended to support traders during Ramadan and will remain operational until the reconstruction of their original shops is complete.
Meanwhile, the judicial commission investigating the Gul Plaza incident is collecting information from citizens, with today marking the final day for submissions. The commission will review the received emails and letters and may summon citizens for further statements.
Authorities have stated that the commission will maintain an active email channel to continue receiving relevant information from the public.
