Mumbai, India – Web Desk: Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh has reportedly received a death threat and an extortion demand of ₹10 crore from the notorious Bishnoi gang, according to Indian media and police officials.
Reports said the threat was delivered via a voice note sent from a US-based number to the actor’s manager. The message allegedly demanded money and warned of deadly consequences if the demand was not met.
The Mumbai Crime Branch has launched a preliminary investigation and is working with US authorities to trace the origin of the call. Investigators believe the voice in the message may belong to a suspected gang operative known as Harry Boxer.
The Bishnoi gang has previously been linked to several high-profile criminal incidents targeting Indian celebrities. The group was accused of involvement in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala and has issued threats against actor Salman Khan in the past. The gang was also linked to a recent shooting incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence and an attack on comedian Kapil Sharma’s restaurant.
Security agencies say the threat highlights growing concerns about organized crime targeting high-profile public figures in India. Investigations are ongoing.
