Beirut, Lebanon – Web Desk: Despite a recently announced ceasefire between the United States and Iran, Israel has continued airstrikes in Lebanon, raising fresh concerns over escalating Middle East tensions and the durability of the truce.
Reports indicate that the ceasefire agreement did not extend to Lebanon, a position later clarified by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. This came after earlier remarks by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif suggested that Lebanon was part of the broader ceasefire framework.
According to international media, Israeli air raids targeted multiple locations across southern Lebanon following the ceasefire announcement. Strikes were reported in areas including Khiam and Tyre, regions that have witnessed intense clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah in recent weeks.
One of the reported strikes occurred near a hospital in the southern city of Tyre shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the ceasefire, further intensifying concerns about civilian safety and regional stability.
Analysts warn that Israel’s continued military operations in Lebanon, coupled with its exclusion from the ceasefire terms, could undermine diplomatic efforts and prolong instability in the region.
The developments have cast uncertainty over the future of the ceasefire, as the international community continues to push for broader de-escalation and a comprehensive political solution to the conflict.
