Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Political leaders across Pakistan have praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir for their role in facilitating a ceasefire between Iran and the United States, describing the development as a major diplomatic success that helped avert a wider regional conflict.
Senior officials, including Punjab Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, commended the leadership’s timely diplomatic efforts, saying they prevented escalation and strengthened Pakistan’s global image as a responsible mediator.
Federal ministers and political figures highlighted that Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy created space for dialogue, reducing tensions in the Middle East and contributing to global stability. Some leaders even described the initiative as a potential case for international recognition.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan’s efforts for peace would be remembered as a historic contribution, while other officials stressed that the country’s role demonstrated its growing influence in international affairs.
Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also welcomed the ceasefire, calling Pakistan’s peace-driven diplomacy a source of national pride. He emphasized that dialogue and restraint remain essential for long-term regional stability.
Analysts note that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States has eased fears of a broader Middle East conflict, with Pakistan emerging as an active diplomatic player advocating negotiations over confrontation.
