WASHINGTON – Web Desk: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched multiple ballistic missiles at a US military base in Jordan, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM), which confirmed all projectiles were successfully intercepted mid-air.
CENTCOM stated in a social media post that all American forces deployed in the Middle East remain safe and are on high alert across the region. More than 20 US naval vessels are currently operating in the Middle East, including those enforcing the naval blockade against Iran.
The interception came as CENTCOM also reported that up to July 28, its forces had diverted 18 commercial vessels, disabled 2, and boarded 2 others for inspections to ensure compliance with US sanctions. Iranian media also reported the attack on US installations in Jordan.
US officials said the situation is being continuously monitored, with American forces fully prepared to counter any potential threats.
