US pursuing Iran talks as Trump hints allies kept in the dark

Washington, United States | Web Desk: US President Donald Trump has indicated that the United States does not share its political intentions on Iran with Middle Eastern allies, even as Washington continues diplomatic efforts to reach a potential agreement with Tehran.

In an interview with an American television network, President Trump said the US wants negotiations with Iran to continue and is attempting to reach a meaningful outcome. “The plan is for Iran to negotiate. Then we will see what is possible,” he said, adding that decisions will be made based on circumstances if talks fail.

Reiterating the option of military force, Trump stated that a major US naval fleet is moving toward Iran, stressing that all options remain on the table amid rising Middle East tensions.

Commenting on recent diplomatic engagements, the US president made it clear that American policy and decisions regarding Iran are not disclosed to regional allies, signaling a unilateral approach to the issue.

A day earlier, Trump had said that Iranian officials appear interested in making a deal work, though he claimed that only he knows whether a final deadline has been set.

The remarks come at a critical time for US–Iran relations, as diplomacy and military posturing unfold simultaneously across the region.
