Ariana Grande Furious Over White House Use of Her Song in Immigration Video: ‘Barbaric, Inhumane’

Date:

WASHINGTON – Web Desk: Pop singer Ariana Grande has demanded that the White House not use her music to promote immigration policies, reacting strongly after her hit song “Bye” was used in a social media video showing border agents handcuffing individuals and transferring them to detention centers.

The TikTok video, captioned with a claim that President Trump has delivered the safest border in US history, featured Grande’s 2024 track. In response, Grande wrote that her music should not be used for “barbaric, inhumane, and despicable” purposes. After her comments, the video’s audio was removed, and her comment was deleted, drawing further criticism online.

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson rejected Grande’s stance, stating that the real illegal criminal migrants are elements who have harmed and murdered innocent American citizens. The controversy comes as President Trump signed a new law approving over $70 billion in funding for immigration agencies for the remaining two and a half years of his term.

Grande joins a list of artists who have prohibited the Trump administration from using their music for political purposes. Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem, Celine Dion, and Beyoncé have previously objected to the use of their songs during Trump’s 2024 campaign and other political activities.
