Finance Ministry Proposes 10% Salary Hike, 7% Pension Increase for Government Employees

ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: The Ministry of Finance has proposed various salary and allowance increases for government employees in the upcoming fiscal year budget, according to sources.

A 10% increase in salaries for government employees has been proposed, while the ministry has also recommended a 7% increase in pensions for retired employees. Proposals to increase conveyance allowance and medical allowance are also under consideration. Additionally, a proposal has emerged to merge one of the ad hoc allowances into basic pay.

According to sources, the salary increase will be implemented in two phases, with employees in lower grades receiving higher raises, while those in grades 17-22 will receive smaller increases.
