BLA Terror Strategy Uncovered by US Magazine

Date:

WASHINGTON (Web Desk) – The US magazine “The National Interest” has exposed Balochistan Liberation Army’s (BLA) evolving terrorist tactics and its cross-border networks.

According to “The National Interest” report, terrorism has become a low-cost, high-fear model. The proscribed BLA does not have the capability to control a territory; instead, a network of fragmented groups continues to carry out terrorist activities.

The report stated that the activities of the banned BLA are increasingly becoming a threat to the entire region, and that cross-border terrorist networks pose a danger to regional interests. It added that linking violence in Balochistan solely to economic deprivation is a distortion of facts.

The US magazine further noted in its report that economic deprivation cannot justify terrorism. Pakistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and China have all designated the BLA as a terrorist organization. The report also highlighted that weapons left behind in Afghanistan have contributed to an increase in terrorism.

The report further revealed that the United States needs to focus on network-based terrorism, and that a joint counterterrorism strategy has become unavoidable.

The report urges the US to focus on dismantling networked terrorism rather than relying solely on conventional military aid. Intelligence sharing, financial tracking, and legal enforcement are identified as key counterterrorism tools.A coordinated counterterrorism framework involving Pakistan, Central Asia, and the United States is now essential.
