Pakistan vs India T20 WC Match Decision Likely Feb 12

Date:

LAHORE (Web Desk) – A final decision regarding the highly anticipated Pakistan vs India match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is expected on February 12, sources said.

According to Indian media, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had given Pakistan a deadline of February 9 to clarify its position.

However, sources indicate that no major breakthrough is expected today, with the decision likely to be announced later this week.

Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today.

During the meeting, the PCB chairman will brief the prime minister on recent negotiations and seek guidance on the future course of action.

Sources confirmed that the final decision on whether Pakistan will play against India rests with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Talks involving the ICC, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and Bangladesh Cricket Board regarding Pakistan’s potential boycott of the match concluded late last night.

Detailed discussions were held on the Pakistan-India match and the overall cricketing situation in the region.

It is worth noting that an ICC delegation visited Lahore yesterday to present a request for Pakistan to play against India. Earlier, following government directives, the PCB had decided to participate in the T20 World Cup but refrain from playing against India.
