(Web Desk) – Flight operations across Pakistan remained severely disrupted on Thursday as escalating tensions in the Middle East continued to impact regional aviation routes.
According to aviation officials, 162 additional flights were cancelled at major airports across the country, including Jinnah International Airport, Islamabad International Airport, Allama Iqbal International Airport, and Bacha Khan International Airport.
Officials reported that 40 flights were cancelled in Karachi, 38 in Islamabad, 28 in Lahore, and 24 in Peshawar, while other cancellations were recorded at smaller airports.
The latest disruptions have pushed the total number of cancelled flights in Pakistan to 578 over the past five days, reflecting the growing impact of regional instability on aviation networks.
Air travel across the region has been affected following military escalation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. The conflict intensified after reported strikes on Iranian targets and retaliatory actions targeting U.S. bases in the Gulf.
Several countries in the region temporarily restricted or closed their airspace after Tehran launched strikes against U.S. military facilities in the Persian Gulf, forcing airlines to reroute or cancel thousands of flights.
Pakistani aviation authorities said both international and domestic flight schedules remain under pressure, particularly routes connecting Pakistan with key destinations in the Middle East.
Officials warned that normal operations may take time to restore as airlines continue to assess safety conditions and adjust flight paths amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.
